UPDATE 4/25: I offer my thoughts on the success of LitHop in this post.

ORIGINAL POST 4/23: Congrats to Lee Herrick and all the folks who have worked so hard to create the first LitHop for Fresno. From my Sunday column:

LitHop 2016, a free daylong literary festival, is the creation of Lee Herrick, Fresno’s poet laureate, who wants to bring to Fresno an event that will celebrate the city’s growing reputation as a poetry and prose powerhouse. The inaugural event will feature more than 140 writers across all genres in nine venues.

Think ArtHop meets the Rogue Festival meets an all-you-can-eat buffet. Go ahead. Stuff yourself. On words.

The action starts at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Plus: 6 writers to hear at Fresno’s first LitHop.
