I have a report on Fresnobee.com about an ArtHop controversy at Broadway Studios over a curator who didn’t like the title of Kezia Vershelle Harrell’s exhibition. She’s calling it “I Hate White People But I Loves You: The Search For Her Blackness.”
The curator, Peter Valdez, who rented space at Broadway Studios, waited until the day before ArtHop before texting Harrell that he didn’t like the title. When she refused to change it, he told her he’d find another artist. She took the case to social media, and after a public outcry, Valdez relented. The show is on.
