Craft beer fans don’t really need an excuse to celebrate exquisitely made brews (epecially not one that lasts a week).
But, this being American Craft Beer Week, we should take the time to honor the small and independent craft brewers (and California has plenty).
While, it would be hard to put together a full list of craft-beer places in Fresno (I came up with 10 last year), here are three places you may want to seek out this week.
1. Tioga Sequoia
The addition of Tioga Sequoia’s Beer Garden has been transformative for downtown south of the stadium. Go there and order Cow Chocula (if you can get it).
2. Pita Kabob
This oddly-named Visalia gastropub (there are multiple locations) has a huge number of rotating taps and is home base for The Captain.
The Captain knows his stuff. You’ll known him. He’ll be wearing a captain’s hat.
3. Shell Fast N Easy
This gas station at Shields and Maroa Avenues bill itself as the Valley’s craft beer headquarters. It’s selection of out-of-the-norm brews (the Habanero Sculpin from Ballast Point for example) is deep.
Oh, and it has a beer cave.
